Apollo 11 in real time
« on: June 16, 2019, 05:26:07 PM »
From an email I got:

Dear space tracking friends,

Here’s something that I hope you will really enjoy.

Ben Feist, a Canadian programmer, has been working for months to bring together all the audio and visual material for the Apollo 11 mission.

Key to this is the 30-track MOCR recordings which were digitised last year.

This gave access, for the very first time, to all the MOCR loops.  I was given access to the audio last year (about 650GB!), but Ben has done an amazing job of speed-correcting and synchronising it (using the IRIG time code on track 1 of every tape), and wrote software to make it accessible.

Now he has gone much further and made it possible for you to jump to any point in the mission, and then select any MOCR position - plus more, all in a web browser.

There is so much data to process, that this really doesn’t work on a tablet - and it does take some getting used to the interface, but it is very useful.

The site is at

If you're not a scientist but you think you've destroyed the foundation of a vast scientific edifice with 10 minutes of Googling, you might want to consider the possibility that you're wrong.

You forgot, Derek Willis no need for you to partake since you believe that A11 was faked. ::)

Yup

Hours of mission control film footage - faked
Hours of (originally LIVE) TV transmissions - faked
Hours of onboard film footage -faked
2,000 photographs - faked
11,000 hours of Mission Control audio - faked
240 hours of space-to-ground audio - faked

I'm having trouble locating an appropriate facepalm.

That will work!  :)
I had another thought Derek, don't watch we wouldn't want you mind confused with FACTS, instead of your fantasy tale.
