New web hosting and down time.
« on: February 21, 2024, 08:33:54 PM »
Hi everyone,

I transferred the website and forum to a new web host today, and it didn't exactly go smoothly. I think everything is back to normal now, but please let me know if you find any issues.

LO
It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth.
I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth.
I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.

Oooops! Disregard - It worked on a subsequent attempt.

Hi!  I get an error message when trying to use the 'Mark All Messages As Read' button.

"An error has occurred! Unable to verify referring URL. Please go back and try again."

Apologies - that error is happening again. I went back a couple of times but the same result each time:

Hmm. I haven't been able to reproduce the error on my end. The only thing I can suggest is to try clearing your browsers cache and then re-login to the forum. Maybe there is something cached from the old host, like an old cookie, that is causing the problem.

It did not allow me to login "forever", but did allow "1 month".  I'm good for another month.  :)

Similar issue: each time I go to the Forum, it hasn't logged me in. 'Forever' is selected and I can successfully log in but the next time I land on the page (even during the same session), it is the same login routine again. Cache has been cleared. Using Chrome version 122.0.6261.112 with Windows 10 Home version 22H2 build 19045.4046.

Ranb & Obvious man...

Do you have the website bookmarked, or do you just type the URL into the address bar?

When I moved the website to the new host I decided to remove the www from the address since it isn't really necessary. I'm wondering if it maybe caused the issues you are experiencing if you have the address bookmarked with the www included. I'm not sure why that would matter, but it's the only thing I changed.

Hmmm - I've amended the bookmark & that seems to have worked.
