I have disabled new account registrations and the ability to create new topics or reply to existing ones. I am pretty sure you are still able to modify your own posts though, so if you want to recreate a thread from there you can still copy and paste it.

You better recheck the settings, LO.  I just went to the old forum and noticed it got spammed last night.  As a test, I replied to an existing thread and was permitted to do so.  When that worked, I tried starting a new thread and that worked as well.  Clearly the reply and new thread features have not been disabled as you think they have.  I don't know about registrations because I couldn't test that.

I left the Tech Support section open just in case people have problems accessing this forum. I'll have to keep any eye on it for spam though.

Can you confirm that the ability to post is only in the Tech Support section? As the moderator I can still post in any section, so it's hard for me to check that without creating another account.

Yes, it does appear to be only the Tech Support section.  Sorry about the false alarm.

How desperate does a spammer have to be to seek out the only working part of an otherwise disabled and inactive forum?

Very little spam is done by actual people, and the bots don't care where they are posting their stuff just that they are able to post it.
