Title: LaTeX Test
Post by: Not Myself on May 12, 2012, 06:39:39 PM
Not implemented.  Or at least, not with the bbcode tag I used.

[tex]\begin{gathered}\begin{alignedat}{2}\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty}\frac{1}{\sqrt{2\pi\sigma^{2}}}e^{-\frac{\left(x-\mu\right)^{2}}{2\sigma^{2}}}d x=&1\qquad&
\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty}\frac{x}{\sqrt{2\pi\sigma^{2}}}e^{-\frac{\left(x-\mu\right)^{2}}{2\sigma^{2}}}d x=&\mu\\
\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty}\frac{x^{2}}{\sqrt{2\pi\sigma^{2}}}e^{-\frac{\left(x-\mu\right)^{2}}{2\sigma^{2}}}d x=&\mu^{2}+\sigma^{2}\qquad&\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty}\frac{x^{3}}{\sqrt{2\pi\sigma^{2}}}e^{-\frac{\left(x-\mu\right)^{2}}{2\sigma^{2}}}d x=&3\sigma^{2}\mu+\mu^{3}\end{alignedat}\\
\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty}\frac{x^{4}}{\sqrt{2\pi\sigma^{2}}}e^{-\frac{\left(x-\mu\right)^{2}}{2\sigma^{2}}}d x=3\sigma^{4}+6\sigma^{2}\mu^{2}+\mu^{4}\end{gathered}[/tex]

I'll look into installing the plugin that adds LaTeX to the forum. I tried installing it in my other forum and it didn't work, but that was several years ago so maybe they've worked out the bugs.

Well, don't do it on my account, unless it's really easy, since I haven't been a very active member.

Some of the others may like it, I don't know.

Here is what the particular code I posted looks like when compiled. (http://www.spacetimeandtheuniverse.com/forum-rules-guidelines/5468-latex-commands-quick-menu-working-2.html#post14368)

(http://www.codecogs.com/eq.latex?\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty}\frac{x^{4}}{\sqrt{2\pi\sigma^{2}}}e^{-\frac{\left%28x-\mu\right%29^{2}}{2\sigma^{2}}}d%20x=3\sigma^{4}+6\sigma^{2}\mu^{2}+\mu^{4})

OK, that seems to work.

It works!

[jstex]\lim_{n \to \infty}\sum_{k=1}^n \frac{1}{k^2}= \frac{\pi^2}{6}[/jstex]
