Earthrise images and the DISCOVR satellite images
« on: May 01, 2017, 11:44:31 AM »
I know this is a discussion on a couple of open threads but because I got sick of trying to explain perspective  to one particularly dense hoax believer. I have made a video that literally took me all of 10mins to setup, shoot and download to WooTube. Please feel free to use it if you think it explains the point very simply to people who lack the understanding if you use words. :)

PS:- Before anyone mentions it, I should have been back about another 2M but I only have a short garden, the distances used however are reasonable approximations. Please excuse the the discarded boxes of me new scope in the garden. :)

The cream egg was the only thing about the right size. Wrong shape though.

You could also google up some forced perspective images like...

to make the point. There are heaps of those.

American, Australian Rules, and Rugby footballs are prolate...
"Cheer up!" they said. "It could be worse!" they said.
So I did.
And it was.

As is the cream egg in the video, which is what I thought Bryanpoprobson and Abaddon were referring to in their posts.

I suspect someone will accuse you of switching different size creme eggs while you were moving the camera :-)

I wish my lawn looked that good :-(
