Thank you twik.

I will continue with castles, with the castle build by one single man : Moussa Al Ma'amari (Moses the builder).

besides the village old life, there are ancient weaponry available in the castle, but the story of building it is a special one.
Moses tells his funny, inspiring story  here in Arabic , but I will translate it, adding to it what details we know. He says : I used to love a girl that was so beautiful but she was also a liar . she would tell her father : Moses hugged me, Moses kissed me.. but I wouldn't dare to come near her. she had a very long hair on her chest from two sides and each time she would turn it would look like a dress.. I was fascinated by her beauty, but she was rich. her dad had a castle. she would tell me: when you have a castle like my dad I would marry you.
Once they were in the class, and Moses was drawing a castle. the girl said to the teacher: Moses winked me. the teacher said:  wouldn't I get rid of you anytime? He threw the paper on the floor telling him: are you drawing the castle of your dad? he beat him and made him kneel on small rocks, which made blood flow of his legs. The last thing Moses remembers of the girl is that , her long hair now on the level of his head going and coming, he rolled some hairs of them around his finger and picked them. The next day he left school for good and said to himself: this girl is the lone kid in her family, and I am poor and she is rich. she will never marry me.
He went to his uncle who was a builder and started learning building, restoring many houses and palaces. Then, he married, and with his and his wife's money he bought a land and started alone building this castle rock by rock. He went to bring his teacher, and he made the door small so the teacher would lower down to be able to enter, but he found out that his teacher was dead by then.
One of the depictions in the castle has the teacher beating him in class and his friends laughing at him.

back to the village life, I used to enjoy, like this kid, watching the saj bread done by the maid at my grandfather's house

(saj)

there is also in some villages what we call the tannour bread
(tannour in the North)

but those are gone, good times. Now , with civilization marching to every village, most people buy that bread from the bakery.

Actually, I'd do better where I grew up. There is a large Lebanese community there. They had the best New Year's fundraising dinner!
